Island Adventures: Two Weeks in Oahu, Hawaii
Join me as I take you on a journey to Oahu, Hawaii, where I soaked up breathtaking sunrises, kayaked through the serene Ka‘elepulu Canal, and even strayed from my vegetarian diet. Now, back home, it's time for detox and reflection.

Hey there, beautiful souls! I've just returned from a two-week adventure in Oahu, Hawaii that was nothing short of amazing!

You know, life sometimes blesses us with opportunities to explore, learn, and indulge a little. And, oh boy, did I seize that opportunity on my recent trip to Oahu, Hawaii! I NEEDed IT!!!

I stayed in the charming town of Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii where I reveled in the sunrises, embarked on soul-soothing kayaking journeys along the Ka‘elepulu Canal, and, yes, I confess, I strayed from my vegetarian diet and savored the flavors of the island!!! haha

Now that I'm back home, it's time for a little detox and some deep spiritual reflection.

Have you ever taken a vacation that left you feeling renewed, challenged, and inspired all at once?

That's exactly what happened for me, my fellow travelers and faithful followers!

I experienced some breath-taking sunrises, some very emotional moments of thanks, and some soul-penetrating moments of grief. What was most blessed for me was the experience of embracing my feelings and the opportunity to do it in a place that I know heals me.

Now, I did venture outside my 10 month vegetarian diet for the time-being, but... let me tell you how much I've been looking forward to getting back to my avocado benedicts! TUH! You don't even know! sn: Who knew a carnivore like me would long for my vegetarian diet while traveling??? Whaaat??? Look where He brought me from!!! WHEEEEEEWWWW! (in my class of 2003 commander voice! lol)

Now, when you come back from vacay, what is your go-to method for detoxing, physically and spiritually, after returning?

I personally believe that while travel itself is a means of unpacking, it, too, deserves thorough processing. I don't think we're "done" just because we're returned home. Traveling keeps pressing upon us even after we leave. Can you relate?

Spend some time thinking on that. For now...

Let's take a closer look at some of the highlights and lessons from my time on this picturesque island!

Embracing the Magic of Oahu, Hawaii Sunrises

There's something profoundly spiritual about watching the sun peek over the horizon, casting its golden glow on the world. Oahu gifted me with some of the most mesmerizing sunrises I've ever seen. Each dawn was a reminder of the beauty and magnificence of God's creation. These moments of stillness and reflection were a powerful reminder of His presence in every corner of the earth.

Kayaking Adventures on the Ka‘elepulu Canal

Navigating the Ka‘elepulu Canal in a kayak was a serene and picturesque experience. The calm waters, the lush green surroundings, and the gentle sound of the paddle slicing through the water created a sense of tranquility that's hard to put into words. It was a reminder that sometimes, we need to escape the noise of our daily lives to truly hear God's whispers of love and guidance.

A Culinary Adventure: Straying from Being Meatless.

I'm vegetarian.

Well... PRESBYTERIAN! (Pescatarian.)

Sometimes.

Now, here comes my little confession – I love exploring the culinary side of new places. And Hawaii, with its rich and diverse food culture, was an absolute paradise for my taste buds. I temporarily put aside my pescatarian diet and enjoyed some island classics, including some SUCCULENT pork dishes. YYYESSS HONEY!!! These meals helped me appreciate the beauty of my surroundings by embracing different cultures and flavors (even if it meant stepping out of my culinary restrictions). Where possible, I highly recommend you step out of your culinary comfort zones, too, both while traveling and while at home!

Detox and Spiritual Reflection

As I return home, I find myself yearning for a detox, both in terms of my diet and my spiritual well-being. It's a chance to cleanse my body and soul, to recenter myself, and to refocus on my faith journey.

What are your go-to methods for detoxing, physically and spiritually, after a trip?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

Traveling often brings us face-to-face with ourselves. It pushes us out of our comfort zones and challenges us to embrace new experiences. It's not just about seeing new places; it's about seeing the world and ourselves through a different lens.

How do your travels impact your spiritual journey and personal growth?

So, my fellow adventurers, share your thoughts and experiences.

Let's embark on this journey together, learning and growing through our collective wisdom.

Travel has a unique way of uniting us, regardless of our physical locations.
Let's continue to explore this incredible world and our inner selves, hand in hand.
