Have you ever tried wontons?? Most of us have. Any Chinese restaurant worth visiting will offer a selection of wonton options. We're most familiar with the cream cheese wontons with that BRIGHT bright red sweet and sour dipping sauce. These are crab rangoons and might not pass the test of traditional wonton for Chinese folk. Traditional wontons have a meat filling (like pork, chicken, or shrimp) with some veggies added. In the more bougie-esque areas, you might come across vegetarian-friendly wonton options around if you're into such sophistication.
In Hawaii, though, you'd appreciate it better if you toss out the sophistication and get down with the locals for all things GRUB!!! Hawaiians love to eat, and Hawaii is a foodie paradise, believe it or not. Imagine what you like most about American--or Chinese!!!--food and putting a Hawaiian spin on it. For example, who decided to put pineapples on burgers or pizzas?? I'm just saying! For one Chinese fusion with Hawaiian eats, I'd like to direct your attention to Any Kine Wontons!
Travelers! I ended my fantastic DAY TRIP with a sampling of the WONDERFUL Any Kine Wontons that I had seen advertised throughout the island of Hilo since I arrived earlier that morning. My first exposure to them might have come when I was in the airport, so it was a true blessing to see them at the music festival later that eve.

I tried 4 different types of wontons and paid $15 for 10 pieces.
At first, I wanted to try two options and get 7 pieces for $10, but then I saw a third option to add to that, and by the time the guy was wrapping up my order, I saw him open up a WHOLE NEW WORLD when I saw those purple potato wontons! Honey! Ya done messed up NeOOOOOOOOOOOWWW!!!

Aht aht! This was a NO for me! It was more cheesy than anything and I don't even recall a twang of heat, so I didn't even finish the last one. Now, you KNOW that means it wasn't all that. (Honey, I finishES muh food!!! Tuh!)
Mushroom Garlic
I couldn't quite figure out what was going on here. I love garlic but maybe that was what was overbearing. Somehow, I believe I might have rec'd the wrong order with these. Something was wrong, but I DID eat them all. Just saying! 🤷🏿🤷🏿
